Curlicue Crush

Curlicue Crush by Chasing Cotton Quilt Designs uses the traditional technique of corner to corner curved piecing...revamped into a funky retro design.  The quilt is fat quarter friendly and is perfect for showcasing those large prints from your collection.  If large prints are not your thing, block centers are perfect for floating stars that will give more traditional fabrics stunning results (see sample hanging in shop).  Using the Curve Master 1/4" Presser Foot makes sewing curves fast and easy.  Pattern purchase required (Curlicue Crush by Chasing Cotton Quilt Designs).

1600" Quilt

The 1600" quilt gets its name from piecing forty 2 1/2" strips of a Jelly Roll, Bali Pop or strips from your stash into one very long strip--1,600 inches!  If you can sew, you can make this quilt!  If you can sew fast, you will leave with a completed top by the end of class!  If you want to sew your first quilt, this is a perfect one.  If you want to sew with your child/grandchild, this quilt will be a lot of fun.  In other words, the 1600" quilt is super easy, super fast and if you use pretty fabrics, the result is a great quilt.  Use your completed quilt top in "Going Full Circle" or quilt as desired.  Sample displayed in shop!

Beginner's Sampler Quilt - "Marmalade and Jam"

In this 2 1/2 day class, you will learn rotary cutting and machine piecing skills, how to make pinwheels, Bear's Paw, Log Cabin, Flying Geese and many more blocks.  This is a quick and easy wall hanging with endless color options and a fresh, memorable design.  You will be so proud of your finished quilt, which will measure approx. 42 x 48".  Come see the beautiful sample hanging in the shop!  Pattern purchase required.

Going Full Circle

This popular 1600" Quilt takes on a whole new look in "Going Full Circle".  Use the popular Bali Pops, Jelly Rolls or a collection of forty 2 1/2" strips from your stash to make a background and then join Rhonda to learn this fun technique that will take your quilt full circle.  Note:  Sewing machine must have Zigzag or Darning Stitch capability.  Come see this beautiful quilt in the shop!

Le Jardin Cerise

Le Jardin Cerise, designed by Gerri Robinson, uses a simple pieced block that when joined together form pinwheels.  Choose fabrics from your stash to create a scrappy version or coordinates from a favorite fabric collection to create a quilt like Gerri's.  Quilt as shown finishes 64 1/2" x 64 1/2" and is perfect for beginners, intermediate or advanced quilters who enjoy a quick piecing project.

Chinook

Chinook, designed by Ellie Brown, with its vibrant sense of movement is created by simple pinwheels set on point and dramatic bands of color from a variety of prints and textures.  We'll review tips on quick piecing perfect pinwheels and use a design wall to arrange quilt components before assembly begins.  Gerri used a variety of Batiks in her version, but anything goes!  Finished quilt measures 60" x 60".

Applique by the Bay XIII - November 28, 29, 30, Dec. 1 and 2, 2012

Come learn to applique or perfect your applique skills with four fabulous instructors:  Elly Sienkiewicz, Emily Martin, Faye Labanaris and Marylou McDonald at our thirteenth annual Applique by the Bay.  Just think, up to FIVE days of nothing but applique in historic Lewes, DE.  We've even added a shopping spree day!  We will have a reception with the teachers on Wednesday evening and a group dinner on Friday night.  Accommodations are available in the Beacon Motel, which is part of the complex where our store is located.  The motel is closed for regular business at that time.  The only guests will be you!   You'll meet other appliquers of all skill levels and maybe make a new friend or two. A continental breakfast will be served each morning as well as lunch on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday (included in fee).  Apply by printed brochure available in the store or on-line soon.

CLASS POLICY

Pre-registration is a must, either in person or by mail. 
We will take phone reservations by credit card only.
Class fee is payable in FULL when you register.
Class fee is not refundable unless you cancel one (1) week in advance 
or class is cancelled due to insufficient enrollment. 
Be sure to register early to ensure that sufficient enrollment is met. 
If you are one of the first to sign up for a class, 
do not purchase supplies until we are sure there will be sufficient enrollment. 
We plan our classes based on supplies that we carry. 
We cannot be responsible for variations in supplies that you purchase elsewhere.
