.Diamond Star
This is the quilt sure to make your friends say WOW! This easy to construct and sparkling medallion star uses long strips instead of lots of bias cut diamonds and a construction techniqu designed to avoid set-in seams and bias edges. It is equally beautiful with scrappy fabrics or with a planned arrangement of color.

FREE –MOTION MACHINE QUILTING
Learn the tricks to successful machine quilting that makes it easier and more successful. Enjoy testing out new ways to meander all over your quilt. Practice border patterns and sashing ideas plus lots of fillers for all that white space! Start out meandering and end up quilting feathers, all with little to no marking.
We will make a “Quilt Sandwich” at least 36” by width of fabric
You will need:
· 2 pieces of fabric 36” by width of fabric
· 1 piece of batting 36” X 40”
Muslin is great for practicing. Choose a thinner batting for your sandwich. Puffy polyester battings are not recommended for this practice piece. If you are a quick learner or confident quilter, you may want to bring enough for a second practice sample just in case you fill up your first one.
Supplies:
· Basic sewing supplies and sewing machine
· 40 wt. or 50 wt. thread
· Free-Motion/Darning foot
· Walking foot
· Fabric Marker of your choice. Make sure it will show up on your fabric!
· 6” X 24” ruler or comparable size.
· LOTS of safety pins for basting, masking or painters tape.
· Pencil and paper for doodling
Other supplies you may desire. They definitely make quilting easier!
· Teflon sheet for sewing machine bed (Sew Slip) that allows fabric to move with ease.
· Quilting gloves

Pre-registration is a must, either in person or by mail.
We will take phone reservations by credit card only.
Class fee is payable in FULL when you register.
Class fee is not refundable unless you cancel one (1) week in advance
or class is cancelled due to insufficient enrollment.
Be sure to register early to ensure that sufficient enrollment is met.
If you are one of the first to sign up for a class,
do not purchase supplies until we are sure there will be sufficient enrollment.
We plan our classes based on supplies that we carry.
We cannot be responsible for variations in supplies that you purchase elsewhere.
